As Doug and I are continue in our preparation phase of our trip we have a huge praise to share.
We now have all the funds we need for our trip - thanks be to God!
One of our biggest faith stretches as we continue to pray and prepare for this trip has been in trusting the Lord for the funds to enable us to go and serve in Serbia. We both felt called, felt we were able to give the time for this trip, and both felt God has given us the ability and experience to be able to go and bless and learn from our brothers and sisters in Serbia. But we both have been living in the active tension of announcing to friends and family something that we plan to do - but have no way of knowing how we will actually pay for the expenses of doing this!
So thanks to those of you that felt the Lord was asking you to help us in a practical way go serve in Serbia. I hope you are encouraged by this news, and we want you to know how encouraged we are and that we absolutely believe that the Lord asked us to "walk by faith and not by sight" in this area of our preparation.
As we continue to prepare for our departure on Oct. 31st, please join us in prayer for:
* Wisdom from the Lord in how to best love, encourage and equip the Pastor's we will be serving.
* Preparation of the hearts of those we will be with, that they will feel the margin to "unplug" from all their ongoing responsibilities to engage with us.
* Our hearts to be open to the things God wants to teach us and areas He wants to grow us in.
* Doug and I to minister as a team - being sent out as Jesus sent out his disciples in pairs - that we will support and compliment each other.
* For all the deep and hard conversations, prayer opportunities, and ministering moments we will encounter while in Serbia.
We'll continue to post a couple of updates before we depart, and then will do our best while in country (internet access can be spotty in the areas we will be ministering) to keep everyone in the loop as to what we (and God!) is up to during time in Serbia.
Thanks so much for all the love, prayers and support!
Monte & Doug
